PRESERVING OUR HERITAGE, INSPIRING THE FUTURE
Art, literature, and nature have long been forces of transformation—preserving culture, telling untold stories, and reconnecting us to the world around us. This belief led to the creation of The Farm—a space where creativity flourishes, ideas are exchanged, and history is reimagined.
Through The Farm Art Residency, we are building a home for artists, writers, and cultural thinkers to step away from the noise of everyday life and immerse themselves in creative exploration. Here, surrounded by nature, conversations unfold, stories are written, and new artistic frontiers emerge.
For the 2025 edition, we honor the legendary Olowe of Ise, a sculptor whose mastery redefined Yoruba art and continues to inspire generations. Olowe’s work is a testament to African ingenuity—his figures, fluid and dynamic, broke the conventions of his time, reshaping the very language of sculpture.
I still remember the first time I encountered his carvings—the intricacy, the movement, the sheer brilliance of his work. It was a reminder that African artistry has always been bold, innovative, and world-class. His legacy is not just a story of the past; it is a call to today’s creatives to push boundaries, experiment with form, and tell new stories.
Through this residency, we are not just preserving history—we are investing in the future of African art. Selected artists will engage in a transformative experience that blends artistic exploration, historical reflection, and the restorative power of nature.
The Farm Art Residency 2025 invites artists to explore these ideas, engage with Olowe’s legacy, and create works that speak to both history and the present. This is more than a residency; it is an opportunity to experiment, collaborate, and be part of a community committed to artistic excellence.
