Profile:
I am Adeodunfa (born 1973, Lagos, Nigeria) an artist who works in a variety of media. With a subtle minimalistic approach, Adeodunfa makes works that can be seen as portraits. Sometimes they appear almost monochromatic, at other times, they seem typical with raw colourful pigments. I love to paint on every day unusual textured surfaces like lace material, belt, etc. and they creates unusual effects too.
My artworks are saturated with obviousness, brush strokes, sometimes gentle, other-times, aggressive brush strokes depending on what my mood is but which ever one I paint, my brush strokes looks calculated. By merging several seemingly incompatible worlds into a new universe, I create works in which a fascination with the clarity of content and an uncompromising attitude towards conceptual and minimal art can be found. The work is aloof, systematic and a cool, neutral imagery is used.

My works bear strong feminine references. Occasionally I paint dubar scenes but my main passion is trying new concepts, new surfaces, new projects and really there is no dynamism being monotonous.
Worthy of mention are the recent works I did for Lagos state @50 celebration monument curated by Terra Kulture: Installation of a 30ft tall indigenous life size wooden canoes made in fiber glass "From Ebute" along the Ikeja airport road. " Football Forever" at Teslim Balogun Stadium. 70ft long fish "Ejanla 1" at Abraham Adesanya roundabout, Ajah and "Ejanla II" a school of fishes at Oworonshoki.
My practice provides a useful set of tools for maneuvering approach in the world of art: this has made my art unlimited. Adeodunfa currently lives and works in Lekki, Lagos.
